Something to consider...

You have a lot of choices when it comes to buying food for your family. Chain grocery stores, big box discounters, online vendors - but do you know where your food is actually produced and processed? Probably not.

This is where Stone House Creek Ranch can offer you real peace of mind.

Our beef and bison is all locally raised right here in Perry, Kansas. We use local processing plants, often within an hour of the ranch.  We don't ship our meat across the country or across the world to save a few cents.  Our ground beef and ground bison, as well as other products like snack sticks or summer sausage, comes from one animal rather than the trim from multiple animals which increases quality of the product.

Our Approach

My name is Jason Clough. I graduated in 2006 at KSU where I received a bachelors degree in Agriculture and a minor in Animal Science & Industry. My inclination during my education was towards land management including many botany and ecology classes as well as beef science, ruminant nutrition, etc.

Our goal is to take care of our land and animals from a natural resource perspective rather than a maximized yield perspective.

Our ancestors put a big wrinkle in the natural plains ecosystem when they fenced and plowed, but with the right management of ruminant animals like beef and bison we can at least mimic the original ecosystem as closely as possible.

Availability

We deliver both beef and bison to local processing plants year round as we have them ready.  We don't grow our animals to a specific target weight, we grow them until they are finished and ready for harvest.  This means we are providing a high quality product while reaching the animals best potential.  Once we establish a date for harvest we begin taking orders for halves, sometimes we have a waitlist.  We also sell our products in smaller quantities at Perry Farm to Fork, Perry KS.

We sell our halves, wholes or sometimes quarters by the pound of hanging weight.  Our halves of beef average around 400 lbs hanging, but this can vary depending on the animal.  Processing is also mostly charged by hanging weight with some other smaller fees.  Depending upon the processor we are using, we may ask you to pay the processing seperately or we may include it in our price.  We will make this very clear when you are making your order.

Once your half, whole or quarter is hanging and processor and you have paid us for it, you are expected to give the processor your cutting order.  This is your chance to choose how your meat is cut and what you will receive!  After your meat is processed you will pick it up at the processing plant.  Currently we have appointments with Steve's Meat Market in DeSoto KS and Alta Vista Meat Co in Alta Vista KS.
